The PEI 55+ Games Society is looking to create a hosting rotation for the next 4-5 years, starting in 2018, for the Vogue Optical 55+ Summer Games.
The Summer Games typically run for a week in June or September and feature 20 individual events such as golf, cribbage, bocce, tennis, bowling, crokinole, and more. In recent years, 400 seniors have participated in the event with 30% of participants returning for multiple events during the week.
The host community’s responsibilities include assistance with recruiting the host committee from local volunteers, staff support for the event, a modest financial contribution to the event, and access to community facilities at regular rates whenever possible.
